About us
Woolpower manufactures sustainable, durable base and mid-layers from its factory in Sweden.
Who is Woolpower?
Woolpower originally started making base and mid-layers for the Swedish army as a way to protect them from harsh Arctic conditions.
Today, Woolpower specializes in manufacturing functional products that can withstand extreme weather conditions (hot and cold), sudden weather changes and varying activity levels.
Born in the cold. Made for adventure.

Our vision
Our vision to generate warmth for 100 years is about manufacturing products that keep people warm in all conditions for many years. It's also about how we, as a company, act with warmth and respect toward everyone and everything involved with, dependent on or affected by us.
Our goal is to manufacture products that last year after year in a responsible and sustainable way, with the people behind the garments at the center. This means we take a long-term perspective on every decision we make. Our garments are timeless, functional and of very high quality in order to counteract the throwaway fast fashion culture.
The resources we use, how we use them and what they are used for reflect the responsibility we have toward the environment, people and animals. We continuously work to improve our processes so that our production has as little environmental impact as possible.

Core values
Our core values are deeply embedded in our culture and every decision that we make.
Value 1: Humanity
We are a human-centered company where people enjoy working. Not everything is about financial results, and we act with care, compassion and consideration.
Value 2: Independence
We are an independent company with roots dating back to 1969, and have been family-owned for more than 25 years. We have the courage to follow our own path rather than simply doing what others do.
Value 3: Reliability
We are a reliable partner, supplier, customer, and employer. Our products are reliable in their durability and design.
Value 4: Sustainability
We take responsibility by making long-lasting, high-quality garments in our own factory in Östersund, Sweden. With production in Sweden and a carefully controlled supply chain, we can work with transparency, fair labor practices and long-term responsibility.
Value 5: Accessibility
We design products for many different bodies, needs and conditions. Our broad size range and functional layering system help more people find garments that fit, perform and last.

Ownership
Woolpower is owned by brothers Adam Brånby and Daniel Brånby. Daniel, Adam and their father, former owner Gabriel Brånby, laid the foundation for Woolpower’s conviction that it is possible to run a manufacturing textile company in Sweden in a responsible way.
Sweden's legislation regarding unions and collective bargaining agreements is strong and quite different from how the US approaches labor laws. Making a profit requires extremely efficient production.
Even though the cost of one sewist in Sweden corresponds to roughly 30 sewists in, for example, Bangladesh, the Brånby brothers continue to go against the current trend of fast fashion by keeping production in Sweden. Every decision they make has a long-term perspective driven by Woolpower's core values. The Brånby brothers are committed to forgoing larger profit margins if decisions do not align with these values.
Within the same group of companies you will also find Gränsfors Bruk, Bröderna Smedbergs, Wetterlings and Svedbro Smide, which, among other things, manufacture hand-forged axes and the blue Svedbro crowbar. All five companies share something very important: they keep their production in Sweden to safeguard craftsmanship, knowledge and the environment.
