Make Your Garments Last
Our clothing is the antithesis of fast fashion and is meant to last for decades. Learn how to care for yours so it lasts for decades of adventures.
Easy to Care For
Wool is easy to take care of, is self-cleaning and doesn't smell. The keratin in wool naturally breaks down the bad smelling bacteria from your skin. Also, the surface of the fiber is water repellent, which prevents bacteria growth and its resulting bad smell.
Therefore, caring for your Woolpower gear is not only easier but also different from caring for other garments.

Washing tips
1. Avoid washing every time gear is used
Woolpower products are designed to be used over and over again before washing without smelling or losing shape. Rather than washing after every use, air out garments and consider washing them after several uses.
2. Wash garments in hot temperatures
We are talking about temperatures up to 140 degrees, so yes, it is safe to wash them in your machine.
3. Tumble dry
Just don't over-dry (over drying can damage the products).
4. Turn the garments inside out and wash with like colors
This helps preserve their lifespan.
Woolpower Care FAQs

Yes, wool has a natural self-cleaning effect. The fibers contain the protein keratin, which helps break down odor-causing bacteria from the skin and prevents new bacteria from forming.
Cells inside the fibers absorb different amounts of moisture. When these fibers swell, they move slightly against each other, creating a small amount of friction. This movement contributes to wool’s mechanical self-cleaning effect, helping the garments stay fresh longer.
The structure of the wool fiber also contributes to this effect. Dirt and odor particles tend to stay on the surface of the fiber and can often be removed simply by airing out the garment.
Because of this, wool garments can often be worn several times between washes. In many cases, airing the garment is enough.
If you need to wash wool garments by hand, shampoo can work well because it has a suitable pH level for wool.
Use lukewarm water and gently move the garment so the water penetrates the fabric. Carefully press out the water without wringing the garment. Lay it flat on a towel (or rock) to dry.
Wool is a natural material and the fiber contains protein, which can attract pests such as clothes moths or carpet beetles.
When you are not using your Woolpower clothes, make sure they are clean and store them in a light and well-ventilated place. Ideally, fold these garments as knitted fabrics can stretch if left hanging. Keeping garments dry. Air circulation helps reduce the risk of pests.
Finally, avoid leaving wool garments in dark and enclosed spaces for long periods.
Yes, you can cut off the label, but make sure not to make your cut too close to the base of the clothing or you may create a hole.
Pilling is completely natural and due to the construction of the fabric.
To provide the best possible insulation, we preserve the natural crimp of the wool. The yarn is not spun too tightly, and the fabric is knitted relatively loosely with terry loops on the inside. This construction traps a large amount of air, helping to retain body heat.
The result is a warm, elastic, and comfortable material. The fact that the fabric may pill over time is therefore a natural consequence of how it is made.
Pilling will not impact the garment's ability to function, and we do not recommend cutting off the pills.
Unfortunately, we do not have a repairs program at the moment.
